“Be Great provides a blueprint for finding your highest gear in all areas of your life. I highly recommend it."
— Jim Afremow, Ph.D. (Author of “The Champion’s Mind”)

“We all want to be great but what does that actually mean and how do we get there? In “Be Great,” Schultz does a fantastic job of walking the reader down an actionable game plan to give them the best chance of achieving greatness. In doing so, he keeps the reader entertained by sharing teachable stories. A must read for any athlete!"
— Tami Matheny (Mental game coach and author of “The Confident Athlete,” “This is Good,” and “Challenger Deep”)
-

"Author Charles Schultz has shared generously here in this book. He has interviewed over 75 highly successful people, distilled the life lessons they have taught him, and intermingled them with his lived experiences. The result is a powerful book that takes us inside the search for greatness."

"In chapter one of Be Great, Charles Schultz writes, "I'm writing this book to deliver a message about greatness not to be seen as a great writer--I don't care about being the best writer--but because I want to be the best coach or teacher." It's that sort of self-aware, unapologetic openness that gives Be Great a value not often seen among books of its kind. It is abundantly clear with every page that Schultz wrote with one aim: helping his readers. We've all seen bookshelves full of volumes written by self-professed experts who promise to fix your life. Not so here. Charles Schultz is not interested in bolstering his reputation, or listing his credentials; he doesn't fall in love with his own cleverly written phrases, because writing is only useful to him as the tool he's using to effectively convey his message. In fact, Schultz doesn't even pretend that his book is the only source of the wisdom he's sharing--and therein lies the magic of the Edge of Greatness Project. Schultz is an enthusiastic observer, a confident explorer, a man for whom the journey through life is both important and deliberate--and he considers it a privilege to share what he's learned along the way. Be Great is like a map being offered at the beginning of a hiking trail--sure, you could wander around and figure things out on your own, but why should you if someone is offering to help? I gave this book four stars instead of five because it's not perfect--but I think its imperfection deserves to be lauded, too. This is the work of a man who knows he's still on the journey, a man who will doubtless become a better writer and thinker and communicator with every step he takes, because he will make sure every step is a step forward. And if living well is important to you, if you're looking for practical wisdom unadorned by pretension, I'd recommend you pick up a copy of Be Great."

"This book is a game-changer. I have read countless books on business leadership, personal development, and how to win in life. This is a fantastically well-written book that showcases the principles it takes to achieve greatness, step-by-step, and how to live a life that inspires others. For me, this ranks as at the top of best books I've read because it lays common principles that successful people have and it does so quickly, without lots of story telling and fluff. If you are someone that wants to take your life a notch higher, if you want to achieve something undeniably great and achieve your definition of success, this book is a must read. It incorporates the most valuable aspects of leadership and greatness and you will certainly be inspired to use these principles. There are no shortcuts to reach the top of your craft, but after reading this book you will know where to focus your energy and effort to get wherever it is you want to go."

"I wish I had this book when I was a young adult. As a young person I really didn't have the forethought on what comes after being a student. This book would have been a tremendous tool to start thinking about what I wanted to achieve in school and then after. To set goals and to learn how to use my failures and successes to achieve those goals. In short to have a plan. I found this book to be extremely insightful and thought provoking. As an adult I look forward to setting new goals and to use the "Action Steps" presented by the author. I look forward to enjoying more works from Charles Schultz."

“Do you want to be a jellyfish in the sea of life that flows with the waves or a shark that chases down opportunities? A jellyfish has little control over his direction in life. Charles Schultz does a wonderful job in his fable Master of the Sea sharing how to see the world full of possibilities and capitalize on opportunities."
— Bryan Eisenberg (NY Times best selling author “Be Like Amazon”)

“I enjoyed reading this book. The writing and the connection between the sea and the sea of possibilities is well done. I can relate to the story as an athlete and one who went through similar challenges. It takes a lot to unlock one’s greatness and the benefit of having some one else with you is invaluable. You’ll enjoy the story telling and fable type writing of this book."

“Todays version of The Go-Giver is Master of the Sea. It provides you that feel good feeling and you find yourself cheering on the young main character. The six skills we can all become laser focused on improving will help us transform our lives and allow us to set sail on the destination we were meant for. I read this book in a matter of a coupler hours and it will now be a staple in the Fry household."

"Once in a while a book comes by that on its own is a really nice story but chapter by chapter you begin to learn something about character and what it takes to be the best you, you can be. You then find yourself pausing and thinking about who you are and the path you are on. Master of the Sea is a wonderful book that you can give any student so they can find that moral compass they have within. I’d love to see teams use this book as it has great lessons in every chapter. Awesome job Charles."

"I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it was an easy read, however it is packed full of nuggets of wisdom especially aimed at our young generation. I have given it to my 16 year old granddaughter to read in hopes that she will glean some insight, and use it to her advantage. If you are searching for a way to encourage your teenager or young adult, I highly recommend this book. I am looking forward to reading the next Charles Schultz informative adventure."

The entire story kept me interested and wanting to know more. I like how there weren't any overly drawn out periods of boredom. A very detailed story, without dragging it on. An easy and quick read without missing any pertinent information to the plot. Very well done from this first time author. I look forward to Charles publishing more amazing stories in the future."
